VILLA IN VIENNA-GRINZING
1985-87

This precisely proportioned villa type is beholden to a timeless classic, thereby evading the short-lived, voguish trends of architecture. A clear tectonisation of the structure is evident in a projecting sandstone plinth around the building, forming the seat of the real building basis, which extends up to the cordon cornice. Above this is the upper floor, followed by the white band of the parapet. The cornice and the vaulted seamed roof intercede between Vienna Classicism and the modern era with Otto Wagner and Adolf Loos.
Traditional details conform to classical architecture: hardwood casement windows, wooden panelling, precisely laid geometrical stone floors, cast iron pillars and accurately moulded concrete elements.
